🚀 Quick Start Guide

Step 1: Install the App

  1. Visit the Shopify App Store or click "Add app" from our listing
  2. Click "Install" and approve the required permissions
  3. Choose your subscription plan (or start free trial)

Step 2: Configure Judge.me Integration

Prerequisites:
  1. Go to your Judge.me dashboard
  2. Navigate to Settings → Integrations
  3. Find "Review Social" and click Connect
  4. Copy the webhook URL from your Review Social dashboard
  5. Paste it in Judge.me's webhook field
  6. Enable "New Review" webhook events

Step 3: Connect Instagram

  1. In Review Social dashboard, click "Connect Instagram"
  2. Login with Facebook credentials
  3. Select the Instagram Business account you want to use
  4. Approve the requested permissions
⚠️ Important: Your Instagram account must be a Business or Creator account linked to a Facebook Page. Personal accounts are not supported.

Q: How does Review Social work?

Review Social automatically receives new product reviews from Judge.me via webhooks. It then uses AI (Nanobanan) to generate eye-catching product images and compelling captions, which are posted to your Instagram Business account. The entire process is automated.

Q: What services do I need to use Review Social?

Limits depend on your subscription plan:

Q: Can I review posts before they go live?

Yes! Enable "Manual Approval" in Settings. All generated posts will appear in your review queue, where you can edit, approve, or reject them before posting.

Q: What happens to negative reviews?

By default, only 4-star and 5-star reviews are used for content. You can adjust this threshold in Settings. Reviews below your threshold are automatically filtered out.

Q: Can I customize the AI-generated content?

Q: Can I use this with other review apps besides Judge.me?

Currently, Review Social is optimized for Judge.me integration. Support for additional review platforms (Yotpo, Loox, Stamped.io) is coming soon. Contact us if you need a specific integration.

Q: What if I want to cancel?

You can cancel anytime by uninstalling the app from your Shopify store. No long-term contracts or cancellation fees. Billing stops immediately.

🛠️ Troubleshooting

Instagram Connection Issues

Error: "No Instagram Business Account Found"

Solution:

  1. Ensure your Instagram is a Business or Creator account (not personal)
  2. Verify your Instagram is linked to a Facebook Page
  3. Confirm you have Admin access to the Facebook Page
  4. Try disconnecting and reconnecting the accounts
Error: "Permission Denied"

Solution:

  1. During login, ensure you approve ALL requested permissions
  2. Check if your Facebook app has required permissions: instagram_basic, instagram_content_publish, pages_read_engagement
  3. Go to Facebook Settings → Business Integrations → Review Social → Edit → Re-enable permissions

Judge.me Webhook Issues

Problem: Reviews not triggering posts

Solution:

  1. Verify webhook URL is correct in Judge.me settings
  2. Check that "New Review" event is enabled in Judge.me
  3. Test by creating a test review in Judge.me
  4. Check Review Social logs for webhook receipts (Dashboard → Activity Log)
  5. Ensure Judge.me plan supports webhooks (some free plans don't)

AI Generation Issues

Problem: Images not generating or look wrong

Solution:

  1. Check if you've reached your monthly AI generation limit
  2. Ensure product has images in Shopify (AI needs reference images)
  3. Try changing image style in Settings
  4. Some products may require more descriptive names/descriptions
  5. Contact support if quality issues persist

Posting Issues

Problem: Posts failing to publish

Solution:

  1. Check Instagram connection status (Dashboard → Settings)
  2. Verify Instagram token hasn't expired (reconnect if needed)
  3. Ensure caption doesn't exceed 2,200 characters
  4. Check if image meets Instagram requirements (min 320px, max 8MB)
  5. Review Instagram's Community Guidelines for content violations
